tUnE-yArDs w/ Buke & Gass and Papa Bear @ Hi-Dive, 8:00 PM, $10

Merrill Garbus fronts the band tUnE-yArDs and tonight they will play the Hi-Dive.  The band just released their second album, w h o k i l l, and have since been selling out their shows, so jump on it!  Garbus' music is hard to describe; its rock ,its folk, its R&B, its funk and she plays the ukulele.  These genres are seamed together effortlessly, which is a testament to Garbus' talent.  She has a big voice and has no inhibitions in using it to make the fullest expression.  The self-confidence with which tUnE-yArDs has written and recorded this album foreshadows an amazing live show in which emotions will be laid out for all to see.  And you'll be able to see them up close.  The Hi-Dive is small and intimate.  This setting is definitely the best for tUnE-yArDs- you wouldn't want to miss the expressions on Garbus' face as she belts out self-felt lyrics from the bottom of her emotional yet steadfast heart.
