The menu items are a good basic spread for a café serving coffee and wine: crepes, paninis, salads, breakfast items, cheese & meat plates. There are about 20 wines to choose from and over half of those are available by the glass. As we were there for an early dinner, we decided to order several plates and glasses of wine. The charcuterie plate had four types of cheese, olives, capicola ham, salami and crusty bread. The brie, bleu cheese and ham were my favorite items; all the ingredients were of extremely high quality and I say that as someone extremely picky about cheeses and cured meats.
Next was a caesar salad with grilled chicken, BLT on focaccia with avocado, and savory crepe filled with spinach, ham and feta. Everything is fresh, delicious and nicely presented on oversized white plates.
The wine list was lovingly chosen by a wine aficionado as well. We are lovers of white wine and tried the reising, chenin blanc and sauvingon blanc, all which were superb.
I was extremely impressed with this sophisticated little café. Their menu is much more grown up than we’re used to in the area, and nothing is overpriced. If you’re as hungry as we were, I would suggest coming in for their happy hour, which is from 3:00 - 6:00 daily. It’s the best deal I’ve ever seen! All food is 50% off and all wines by the glass are $3.
I love seeing unique establishments like this thrive, so please stop in today and give Off the Vine a try. I can’t wait to come back for coffee and brunch!
