Lime looks promising as soon as you enter. The clean, modern design feels like it belongs in Larimer Square, and the space feels nice and open, despite being a basement location. The restaurant is small, but well-designed.
I have two favorite things at Lime: the silver tequilas served inside of a squeezed, halved lime and the chips and salsa. Top-shelf tequila goes down super easy, especially when served in such a unique way. The house-made chips are thick and substantial and the fire-roasted salsa is just spicy enough.
Unfortunately for Lime, the main courses have sadly gone downhill. This recent dinner will be my last there. The rice was overcooked and flavorless; the tamale was sweet and entirely made up of masa. My enchilada was topped with a bland sauce and the chicken inside was tough; an entirely disappointing and forgettable meal altogether.
Lime will still be a place I frequent for summertime happy hours, especially since their flagstone patio is such a nice reprieve from the busy Larimer Square above on a calm summer night.
