Sabor Latino

Sabor is truly one of my favorite Latin restaurants thus far. Latin food is routinely overpriced for what you get, but Sabor hits the mark. In addition to a great atmosphere and staff, Sabor Latino offers a nice blend of authentic cuisines from many areas south of the border, including Mexico and Argentina.

The prices are great when you consider the quality and portions of food. Expect to get full without breaking the bank, and enjoy a well-priced beer with your meal if you happen to make it there during happy hour, which is Mon-Sat 4-6:30pm. Happy hour deals include $2 beers, cheap apps, and $4 mojitos among other things.

I've heard people complain about Sabor suffering an identity crisis because they offer foods from all over Central and South America. I fail to see the problem here, and I think these people are missing the point entirely - it's a LATIN American restaurant, not Mexican. I quite like being able to order Chilean empanadas and a Cuban steak sandwich from the same restaurant.

I recommend a patio seat if available and weather-permitting, though seating inside provides an equally enjoyable experience. My only gripe is that free salsa and chips are only offered if you have a long wait for a table during peak hours. Other than that, another great little eatery in Denver's Highland neighborhood.
