Double Daughters Salotto is like something out of a steampunk Alice in Wonderland fantasy. If Alice was maybe a bit goth. Gnarled trees adjourned with tiny, white lights crawl down the black, glittering walls; white doves flying down through them. Seating consists of red booths in the shape of teardrops with a mysterious sphere glowing in the center of each table.
Though located at the core of LoDo on 17th and Market Street, Double Daughters tends to be rather subdued during the most of the week. Monday – Friday, happy hour starts at 5 p.m. and features a fairytale-like list of house drinks, such as the Saint Vitus' Dance, a pint full of apricot-scented liquor. Their house specialty is Succo Vaffanculo de Mario, a secret family recipe containing 17 different libations. But be warned - this drink is so strong, they won't serve you more than two! If you've got an appetite, the thin-crusted NY-style pizza from Mario’s next door is offered up by the slice.
Every day of the week they have a DJ spinning a mashup of everything from electronica to metal, sans the exhausted assortment of popular tunes you can expect to hear at practically every other bar and club in Denver. The music at Double Daughters is very much consistent with the ambiance and atmosphere exuded by the decor.
Outside of happy hour, prices are comparable to other bars; however, we promise a unique atmosphere and menu you won't experience anywhere else in Denver.
